Artist Statement:
Avril Lyons is a semi abstract painter specialising in landscapes and seascapes. She graduated from Belfast College of Art and Design. Although she has been living in England since the late 80’s she draws much of her inspiration from the landscapes of her roots in Ireland. Her paintings are studio based and process led and she works predominately in acrylics.
1955 Born in Co. Antrim Northern Ireland.
1973–1977 BA Hons in Fine Art, Belfast College of Art and Design
Following a career in community arts and photography has worked
full-time as a painter since 2004.
