Friends of Hart Plain

Friends of Hart PlainThe "Friends of Hart Plain" (FoHP), formerly "The School Association", was set up in 1989. Its main aims are fund raising, which benefits all our children, and social events.

Membership automatically includes all Parents or Guardians of children attending the school and all members of their families. Mrs Beverley Cooper, Headteacher, oversees all our decisions.

We have a committee who meet regularly to organise our main fundraising and social events, such as the Summer Fayre, Sponsored Bounce and Leaver's Disco, as well as other discos throughout the year for the whole school. We also run a Christmas shop which enables each child in the school to purchase small gifts for his or her family. We are always looking for new fundraising ideas so your input would be most welcome.

The following are some of the items purchased by the Friends of Hart Plain (FoHP) in recent years :

  • projector for ICT suite
  • digital camera
  • televisions and video recorder
  • sports equipment
  • water bottles
  • musical instruments
  • role play kitchen equipment
  • puppet theatre
  • playmobil©
  • mobile cloakroom
  • gathering drum
  • games, jigsaws and globes
  • floor cushions
  • books and donation towards books
  • free book bag for each new child entering a Reception class
  • bikes and scooters in Year R
  • drawer, units and bookstands in Year 1
  • book shelf display in Year 2
  • blinds for fire doors in Year 2
  • present for each child at Year 2 leaver's disco.

The following committee was elected in October 2003 :

Chair : Mrs Katie Lander (via Class 6)

Vice-Chair : Mrs Sarah Taylor (via Class 6)

Treasurer : Mrs Sue Hibberd (via school office)

Assistant Treasurer : Mrs Karen Brickell (via Class 4)

Secretary : Vacant

We are always looking for committee members so if you have some spare time please come along to one of our meetings normally held during school hours (young children are welcome). If you are willing to help at one or more of the events throughout the year it would be most appreciated. For more information please contact one of the above committee members or leave your name at the office and we will contact you.
